Greg Brennan has been working with enterprise startups and spin outs since beginning his career in the microelectronics industry nearly 35 years ago. After working with several initial ventures, including privately held Vitarel Microelectronics, a spinout from AVX, and Scrantom Engineering, Greg joined Apex Microtechnology.
In 1995, Greg supported a management led exit of the company's founder, and five years later he drove the private equity purchase of Apex by Alerion Capital Group based in Scottsdale, Arizona. In 2007, Greg was instrumental to Apex's sale of Apex to Cirrus Logic Inc, headquartered in Austin, Texas. Immediately following the acquisition, Greg was named Vice President and General Manager, and an officer of the Corporation. When the company opted to sell the APP division in 2012, Greg was called upon to ensure its successful exit and completed the sale in July of 2012 re-establishing Apex Microtechnology as a stand-alone entity.
Outside role of President and CEO, Greg serves as director on boards of several corporations in healthcare and consumer market segments. Greg's undergraduate education started in the BSEE program at Purdue University and was completed with a BS in business.
Joe Jacobson's career in corporate finance spans the financial disciplines of planning, reporting and analysis, operational management, inventory control, cash management, tax and risk assessment, cost control/reduction, and mergers and acquisitions.
Having worked primarily in the technology sector for nearly 30 years, Joe has both domestic and international finance experience with the lengthiest tenure spent at ON Semiconductor where he last held the position of Finance Director for Operations. Most recently, Joe's career path placed him as COO/CFO with California-based VTI Instruments and CEO/CFO for Akustica Corporation in Pittsburgh.
Joe re-joins the team at Apex Microtechnology having spent a brief tenure as the company's CFO from 2004 to 2005. Joe holds a MBA from Arizona State University and earned his undergrad in finance at Northern Arizona University.
Dan joined the Apex team in 1992 as a Process Engineer and Thick-film Manager where he quickly established his ability to foster innovation while leading the company's factory automation.
Dan assumed IT leadership responsibilities in 1996 driving the strategic shift towards enterprise solutions including ERP, BI, and CRM solutions. Dan was tasked with bringing this same enthusiasm when the company became public through Cirrus' purchase, helping drive their corporation as Director of IT. After two years in Cirrus' organization, Dan pursued his own consultancy business; through this exposure he garnered a position with Community Provider of Enrichment Services, as their IT Director.
When Apex privatized itself in 2012 Dan once again drove the company's growth and strategic goals. He led Apex's global sales team through 2015 and has since accepted the role of COO driving strategic improvements throughout process engineering, manufacturing, and quality.
Dan holds a BS in Information Systems Management.
Arco Snoey is an established, multifaceted sales professional. Having greater than twenty-two years of experience in the semiconductor industry and distribution business, Arco specializes in business development focused on high-end analog, motion-control, power conversion, and wireless markets.
Arco began his career in 1996 as a Product Manager for Alcom Electronics during which he drove additional markets through the Benelux regions. In 2004, Arco joined the Apex team as the European Sales Manager owning growth and sales initiatives throughout the region.
Upon witnessing this drive in a high-growth market Arco was challenged to emulate an identical strategic tenacity throughout Apex's global sales channel, including not only his business based in Europe, but also the Americas, and the whole of Asia.
Anna Bernstein joined the Apex team in 2013 as a Quality Intern. She quickly established herself by implementing procedures and delivering quality services while simultaneously pursuing dual degrees in applied mathematics and engineering management. Upon graduation she began driving the Apex Quality Management position full-time.
Anna is responsible for creating and updating manufacturing and operations procedures ensuring Apex's consistent track-record of best-in-class quality products.
Anna holds a BA in Applied Mathematics and a BS in Engineering Management from the University of Arizona.
Jens Eltze is an accomplished marketing and engineering professional with proven ability to drive corporate direction and growth through new product promotion, global coordination, and hardware/software engineering support. He began his marketing prowess in the electronics industry in 1996 with NEC Electronics as an Application Engineer after which he transitioned into New Business Development where he combines his unique talents of technical and business expertise.
In 2012, Jens brought his unique skillset to Apex as Director of Strategic Marketing. Jens draws on his unique background in engineering and business to research and drive new product development in emerging markets. He directs and executes in-depth analyses of new target markets, including technical/market trends, SWOT analysis, value proposition, and return-of-investment (ROI) calculations.
Jens holds an MSEE in Electrical Engineering from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in Germany.
Stephanie Romo began her career in HR with Apex in 2015. Stephanie serves as a liaison between the executive team and employees driving the functions of benefits and policy administration, employee relations, and managerial training.
Stephanie holds a BSBA in Business Management from the University of Arizona Eller College.
Kirby Gaulin has facilitated communication of the complex circuitry invented by engineering to smoothing this technical data into usable data for Apex's customers and stakeholders. This talent has been derived throughout the 35 years he has been in the industry mastering such positions as IC design, quality engineering, process engineering, analog design engineer, and now fellow.
Recently Kirby has assisted the role of facilitating several Apex patents as Apex continues to create solutions to challenging technical issues.
Kirby started his electronics career at the Basic Electricity, Electronics, and Electronics Technician School while completing a four-year commitment with the U.S. Air Force and holds a BS in electronics from Chapman University.
Xiyao began her career in 2006 with Texas Instruments as an Electrostatic Discharge Specialist. In 2008, she began designing Analog IC's. During her Tenure at TI, she was responsible for designing and releasing six IC's while working closely with design, test, characterization, qualification, manufacturing and project management teams to ensure on-time product releases. In 2014, she transitioned into System Engineering and became an expert on developing solutions to meet performance and cost requirements.
Xiyao draws on her extensive technical experience as she leads, mentors, and challenges the team as Director of Engineering.
Xiyao holds a BSEE and a MS Physical Electronics from Peking University, Beijing. She also holds a MS in Electrical and Computer Engineering, as well as a Ph.D. in Physics from North Carolina State University. Xiyao has published 2 professional technical papers and 7 training documents. She also currently holds 2 patents.
